News & Media Releases - Mollie celebrates in style
South Australian Jockey Club Member, Mollie Rothe, celebrated her 100th birthday on 6th August 2011 in style. She arrived at Morphettville in a white stretch limousine where she and her family members were met by Chief Executive Officer, Brenton Wilkinson and Chairman David Peacock.
Mollie, her son Kym and other family members dined in the Winning Post Restaurant. During the afternoon she was interviewed by Sky Racing and Channel 7 (later appearing on their evening news bulletin). She was presented with a basket of products from SAJC sponsor on the day, Spring Gully Foods. During the afternoon many Members and friends stopped by to wish her all the best on her birthday. In Mollie's honour the SAJC named three races on the day for her. Members joined in a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday as Chefs Pepe and Damian presented to Mollie a magnificent birthday cake with the best wishes of SAJC Board Members and Staff.
Suffice to say Mollie had a memorable afternoon and all too quickly the limousine had arrived to take her home.
