Boxing Day Races at Morphettville Racecourse

Monday December 26 is the Adelaide Galvanising Boxing Day Family Day at Morphettville Racecourse; set to be the ideal post-Christmas family outing.
The racing highlight of the day is the Adelaide Galvanising Christmas Handicap; a Listed Race worth $80,000 that has attracted an even line up of twelve runners.

Family Fun at Morphettville Races on Boxing Day

The South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC) will host the Adelaide Galvanising Boxing Day Family Day on Monday 26 December 2011 at Morphettville Racecourse. Friends and family can enjoy a day at the races whilst also amusing the children with FREE rides, face painters, entertainers and giveaways, with BYO picnic hampers welcomed to feed the clan.

Official Opening of Colin Hayes Entrance at Morphettville

After recently undergoing major renovations, the South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC) is pleased to present the newly built Colin Hayes entrance Saturday 17 December 2011.
The entrance facilities have been named in honour of Colin Hayes; an Adelaide based thoroughbred champion trainer. David Hayes – the son of Colin Hayes, will conduct the official proceedings, and the SAJC sees this as a fantastic way to celebrate a racing legend.

City of Marion Stakes Day to start summer with a Bang

Election of Greg Stewart to the SAJC Board

At the Annual General Meeting of the Club on 24th November 2011, the election of Greg Stewart to the SAJC Board was announced.
As an 18 year old in Darwin, Greg took part time employment as a bookmaker clerk, and so began his passion for, and love of horses and all things racing. He worked with ANZ and Standard Chartered Bank and then branched into his own ventures in commercial business by purchasing and selling 35 businesses in Darwin and Adelaide over several years.
In 1989 Greg and his family moved back to Adelaide and in 1992 bought the one man Holdfast Insurance Brokers business which now has 4 offices in Adelaide, Melbourne, Palmerston and Darwin.
He is a Director of Macquarie Premium Funding and the Steadfast Group, and holds a Diploma in Financial Services (Insurance Broking). For 4 years Greg has been a sponsor of the SAJC, and he intends to continue this sponsorship. With friends greg races 31 horses.
The Members of the Board look forward to working with Greg during his three year term of office.
