SAJC Board Members
The business and affairs of the SAJC are decided upon by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors are appointed by election and meet once a month or more often if deemed necessary.
David Peacock - Chairman
David is a retired solicitor and has been a member of the SAJC since 1973. He served on the SAJC committee from 1982 to 1992 and was elected by the Membership as a Life Member in 1993.

Ken Smith AM - Vice Chairman
Ken has been a member of the SAJC since 1998 and comes to the SAJC after a successful career in farming. Ken is a keen horse breeder and racehorse owner, and has been on many organisations Board. Apart from the SAJC, Ken is a member of the SA Racehorse Owners Association, SA Thoroughbred Breeders, and the Order of Australia Organisation.

Sharon Forrester-Jones - Deputy Vice Chairman
In 2002 Sharon Forrester-Jones was elected to the SAJC Board, the second only woman in the Clubs history to do so, and elevated to the position of Deputy Vice Chairman in 2007.
Sharon served for three years as a Committee Member of SAROA, and in 2004 became Patron of the Quorn Jockey Club.
An avid race-goer, she has been involved in the Racing Industry since 1998, becoming an SAJC Member that same year.
She established the Sharon Forrester-Jones Racing Group in 1999, and since then, she has owned, bred and raced many horses, encouraging countless friends and family to the track and introducing them to the joys of racing. She has held many successful functions over the years, both at the track and off, including the very popular monthly Ladies Luncheons. Trips to the country and provincial tracks are high on the list, so that the overall experience of racing can be enjoyed by everyone.
Sharon is passionate about bringing new people into the SAJC fold, and encourages them to feel at home with other members, so that everyone’s raceday experience is enjoyable, and one they will want to continue for a long, long time!

Harry Perks
Harry has been a member of the SAJC since 1980. He is a horse breeder and owner and has served on racing authorities and committees. He founded Perks and Associates accountants and business advisers, along with the shopping centre investment, development and management firm, Perks Property Investments.

Bob Robertson
Bob has been a member of the SAJC since 1966 and has been involved in the racing industry since 1969, when he left IBM and established a computorised thoroughbred form analysis business. Bob has raced many horses and his successes include seven Group 1 victories. Bob's current term aside, he has been on the SAJC Board on two previous occasions. 1982 - 1986 and 1992 - 1996.

Chris Sargent
Chris has been a member of the SAJC since 2003. He is a lawyer with over 30 years experience and is a passionate racehorse owner.

Tony Newman
Tony has been a member of the SAJC since 2003 and was elected to the SAJC Board in 2009. Before retiring, he worked for Mitsubishi Motors where he held senior executive positions in Finance, Purchasing, Sales and Marketing and Information Technology.

Kerry O'Brien
Kerry has been a member of the SAJC since 1986 and is a horse breeder and owner. He is a past president of the South Australian Breeders' Association and it was under his leadership South Australian Breeders Incentive Scheme (SABIS) was implemented to improve prize money and field quality. He is a former track athlete who represented Australia at two Olympic Games and was a world-record holder before establishing a successful major fitness centre.

Bill Spear
Bill has been a member of the SAJC since 1973 and was elected to the SAJC Board in 2004. He has been in practice as a Chartered Accountant since 1968, Registered Company Auditor and Tax Agent. He is also a former Managing Director of Australia’s largest air conditioning component supplier.

Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia since 25th March 1974.
Life Member Squash Rackets Association of South Australia.
Life Member of West Adelaide Basketball Club Inc.
Former State Basketball, Tennis and Squash Player.
Supporter of Horseracing and has owned several racehorses over the period.
