GENERAL

 What do I wear?

Entry to general admission areas of the race course requires guests to be neatly dressed.  Footwear and a shirt must be worn at all times. 

Members enclosure dress standards can be viewed here.

What time do gates open?

Gates open at 10.30 a.m. unless otherwise specified.

How much is general admission to the racecourse?

Adults:  $10

Concession:  $5

Subject to change on Adelaide Casino Adelaide Cup, Melbourne Cup Day and other Feature Race Meetings.

What time is the first race?

First race time varies.  The race times are confirmed up to 4 weeks ahead of the nominated meeting.  Please check race details on www.trsa.com.au

Generally the first race will be between 11.45 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.

There are usually 8 races throughout the day that are 40 minutes apart.

Can I bring alcohol on to the racecourse?

As Allan Scott Park Morphettville is fully licensed, you are not permitted to bring alcohol into the venue.  There are ample facilities provided to purchase alcoholic drinks on the day.  The South Australian Jockey Club practices the responsible service of alcohol.

Do I need to pre-book my general admission tickets?

General racecourse admission tickets for each race meeting are available at the racecourse turnstile entrance points – there is no need to pre-book or pre-purchase these tickets.  During the Adelaide Casino Adelaide Cup, Melbourne Cup and other feature race days tickets can be purchased at Allan Scott Park Morphettville during office hours.

Can I bring a picnic lunch to Allan Scott Park Morphettville?

The SAJC welcomes patrons to bring their own picnic lunch with soft drinks. For health and safety reasons, please be aware that you are not permitted to bring BBQ's, picnic tables and beach/market umbrellas. The SAJC provides oudoor tables, chairs and umbrellas in general admission areas, on a first-come, first serve basis.

How do I get to Allan Scott Park Morphettville?

Just off Anzac Highway, Morphett Rd, Morphettville. Entry via Morphett Rd
entrance or Tramway entrance. In the interests of safety, please consider the following public transport options to and from Allan Scott Park Morphettville.

A taxi rank is located inside the Members' Car Park, where taxis will pick up and drop off throughout the day.

The City-Bay tram operates throughout the day from North Tce, and Victoria Square (Adelaide), through to Moseley Square (Glenelg).Visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au for up-to-date schedules.

Adelaide Metro buses operate services to stops adjacent to Allan Scott Park Morphettville on Anzac Highway and Morphett Road. Visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au for up-to-date schedules.

Car parking at Allan Scott Park Morphettville can be found at the following locations:

  • Morphett Road Adjacent to the Members' entrance on the opposite side of the road to the racecourse.
  • Morphettville Junction Car Park off Anzac Highway.

Can I bring my children to the races?  Are there any restrictions?

Children under 18 years are welcome at all race meetings and receive complimentary admission.  Allan Scott Park Morphettville is a licensed venue.  All minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times whilst in the venue.  The Club’s policy is that a responsible adult is a parent or an authorized guardian of the minor.  Liquor Licensing can issue fines to minors not accompanied by a responsible adult.

Children over 12 must dress to adult standard within the Members’ area.  Free passes are issued to children under 18 years of age who accompany a member. Please visit Secretary's Office on course for Under 18 Members Pass.

There are no restricted areas within the racecourse, however children under the age of 18 are not allowed to approach any beverage outlets or saddling enclosure.

Smoking

Allan Scott Park Morphettville is a public venue and are subject to venue smoking laws.  Smoking will only be permitted in areas not under cover.

Where is lost property?

Lost property is located in the Secretary’s Office at Allan Scott Park Morphettville.  Lost property items are stored for a period of 3 months and are then donated to charity.  All enquiries regarding lost property should be directed to (08) 8295 0111.

Cloak Room

The Cloak Room is located in the Secretary’s Office at Allan Scott Park Morphettville and operates each raceday.  The Cloak Room closes just after the running of the last race.  On feature race days at Allan Scott Park the cloak room is located in the Betting Ring.

Can I reserve outdoor tables and chairs?

The outdoor tables and chairs are freely available to all general admission guests on a first-come, first-served basis.  They are not able to be reserved.  For health and safety reasons the outdoor umbrellas are locked into place and are not able to be relocated.

MEMBERS

Can I purchase “Members Enclosure” tickets if I am not a member?

Non-members can purchase a “Member for a Day” pass for $25 per person except for Feature Race Days including Adelaide Casino Adelaide Cup Day, Melbourne Cup Day, Irish Day, Christmas Twilight, Super Saturday and Boxing Family Fun Day.  Please contact the SAJC on (08) 82950105 to make arrangements prior to race day.

Current members of the SAJC and Members from other racing clubs with reciprocal rights may purchase Members guest tickets.  To enquire about reciprocal entitlements or how to become a Member please call (08) 8295 0105 or e-Mail membership@sajc.com.au

Current SAJC members are able to purchase members guest tickets which will allow non-members access to some members area.

What are the dress regulations for the Members enclosure?

All persons admitted must be neatly dressed. Admittance will not be permitted to persons wearing any clothing that reveals a bare midriff parkas, duffle coats, zippered jackets, leather/casual jackets, denim or denim – look clothing any style of sports shoe including joggers, track shoes, decrepit footwear, sandals, thongs, slippers or footwear without socks, shorts or non-tailored slacks waist length jackets including bomber jackets, denim jackets, leather jackets, anoraks. Can children go into the Members Enclosure?

Children may enter the Members’ enclosure when accompanied by a responsible adult who is in possession of a Member’s enclosure Ticket.  Children must be in the IMMEDIATE presence of a responsible adult AT ALL TIMES while within the Members’ Enclosure area.

Children over the age of twelve (12) must be suitably attired.  Please view Members’ Enclosure dress regulations.

How many Members’ guest passes is a Member allowed to purchase?

SAJC members can purchase a maximum of 6 Members' Day Passes per race meeting. Guests are required to pay the entry fee at the entrance gate and then proceed to the Raceday Office where the SAJC member is required to produce their membership card and sign in their guest(s) for the day. Tickets are priced at $12 each, excluding, Carnival Days and other feature and special event race days which are detailed below:

  • Melbourne Cup Day $35
  • Flight Centre Christmas Twilight $35
  • Adelaide Casino Adelaide Cup Day $90
  • Super Saturday Race Day $35

RESTAURANTS & PRIVATE VENUES

I want to have my hens or bucks day at the races – where is the best place to book?

Groups of any size can be accommodated in private and public areas.  A package can be tailored to individual requirements.  Please contact us for specific information.

Where are the corporate lounges and how many people do they hold?

Corporate Lounges are located in the Palms Grandstand overlooking the straight and winning post and can accommodate groups of 10 or more.  Please contact us for more information.

What are the dress regulations in the Winning Post Restaurant ?

Patrons in the Winning Post Restaurant must adhere to the Members Dress code.

I have lost my tickets – what should I do?

General admission tickets cannot be replaced.  Function tickets are numbered and therefore once reported lost or stolen these tickets will not be valid and replacement tickets will be issued.  Please contact our catering department on (08) 8295 0182 or email catering@sajc.com.au
